Welcome to my homepage. I am an Assistant Professor at the National University of Computer and Emerging Sciences (FAST-NUCES), Islamabad, Pakistan. This site is about the research areas I am interested in, my recent research publications and the courses that I usually teach at the university here. This site also gives links to the web pages of some of my former and present students.
My areas of research involve biologically inspired ideas like artificial neural networks and genetic programming. I apply them in the fields of pattern recognition/classification, image processing, computational intelligence and artificial intelligence. Along with my students, we have proposed techniques for genetic optimization of the perceptual shaping of watermarks, image restoration and combination of classifiers.
